BOOKINGS? Bookings are not required (actually we can’t take them) and there is no cover charge to come see us

Is there a TOUR? / What’s the EXPERIENCE? There is no formal tour (and no entry charge), essentially we are a working chocolate factory that welcomes visitors. You come in, see the chocolate factory production room, enjoys tasting some freshly made chocolates with our engaging staff and if you like them enough they are available for sale. Alternative you can enjoy a delicious hot chocolate in our cafe.

MASKS? Currently the advise is to wear a mask where possible indoors – we have screens internally and it’s not practical eating chocolate samples or enjoying the cafe with a mask but otherwise we do recommend wearing one inside the factory.

GUIDE / ASSISTANCE DOGS? are most welcome (even with their owners….) On a practical level it is always quieter in the mornings (10.00 am through 12.30 pm ) and less people who may try and interact with your working dog.

A visit to Skelligs Chocolate has always been special and centres around the warm, friendly greeting and happy staff. This will always be the case, but there will be some changes to the inside of the factory on a temporary basis.

We have a short video (< 2 mins.) on our homepage here that will also give you an overview of what we are doing.

There are a number of Health & Safety Check we must do:

  1. We need to take your temperature. This is done with a contact-less thermometer
  2. We must have everyone use our hand sanitiser.

  4. (Optional) We are ‘trading’ a 10% off at the till for anyone (over 18 with a credit card) who wants to share their email address with us.

Please note: If you have a temperature, have only arrived into the country or refuse to use our sanitiser we cannot allow entry.

  • We must limit the number of visitors at any one time (40 max), and it can be busy from 1.00 pm through to 4.30 pm each day (especially when it’s wet outside).
  • There are protective PVC panels in the factory at strategic points.
  • We are operating with a reduced workforce.
  • We are not currently taking bookings for visits.
  • We have a sanitisation station set up at the entrance and around the factory.

  • Thank you for choosing Skelligs Chocolate. We work hard at making the best possible chocolate we can and we do our best to make sure it arrives in the same condition as it left us.

Here in Ireland, hot weather is rarely an issue, but what is it like where you are sending this chocolate? We have no control over the way it is transported and how long it stays in hot trucks or depots.

Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for the condition of the chocolate you send.

If you are happy to take responsibility please just tick the box and proceed.

If you would like to discuss this with us please email us at or call us on 00 353 66 9479119 to discuss what we can do for you.

    Tips for Warm Weather Shipping:

    • Please be aware that we use a registered postal delivery service so all packages are tracked and must be signed for on delivery. If there is no one available to sign for the package, please be aware your chocolate will be put back on the truck and stored in the nearest depot for collection.
    • If possible, ship to a business address. Businesses usually receive packages earlier in the morning and someone is always onsite to receive the package. This way your product isn’t exposed to the hot sun all day.
    • After receiving your package, let it rest at room temperature to provide items time to set before opening.
