July News

Fáilte and welcome to our July edition of Am Seacláid (The Irish word for Chocolate Time!)

We have had some of our hottest weather this year over the past number of weeks so we have high expectations for July and August! However, do not despair if the rain is falling, as along with 49 other amazing Irish attractions, Skelligs Chocolate has been named as one of 50 Things for Children to do this Summer by our national paper The Sunday Independent!! Although grouped as something to do on a rainy day, visiting our factory on a summer’s day allows you to take in our amazing scenery as you tour our beautiful Skellig Ring. As you can see below, here are some happy customers on their way out of the factory while taking in the view of Skellig Michael and The Glen.

There is no entry charge and you can enjoy a free tasting of our delicious chocolate. Everyone loves to see the chocolate pouring from the taps, the chocolatiers busy at work making delicious truffles, clusters and brittle or a kids delight – our Chocolate Animals. We encourage our visitors to ask as many questions as possible to understand the creation and production of our products. Our tourist season is well underway and we are looking forward to meeting new visitors as well as welcoming familiar faces back through our doors again this summer.

Chocolate of the Month
Our chocolate of the month for July is one of our most popular truffles – our Salted Caramel’s.

To avail of these delicious Truffles just spend over €40.00 online and simply enter the coupon ‘julycaramels’ at the checkout stage!

Skelligs Salted Caramels

A yummy soft caramel centre covered in milk chocolate with a hint of Irish Atlantic Sea Salt. Layering two flavours mean’s twice the flavour, so the combination of the sweet and salty flavours will tantalise the taste buds of all chocolate lovers. All our truffles are handmade in our factory and if you don’t start nibbling they will last for 5 months!!

(Each blog will include a Chocolate of the Month so keep an eye out!)

Father’s Day Maddness
Thank you to everyone who tagged and shared pictures of your Dad’s enjoying their Skelligs Chocolate on Father’s Day on June 18th. It is fantastic to see so many pictures of our customers enjoying our products on their special days. We ran a Father’s Day Competition on Facebook last month and gave our followers the chance to win a Skelligs Father’s Day Hamper. The response was phenomenal but unfortunately there can only be one winner… and this was Derval Cleary from Co. Limerick. Congratulations again Derval and thank you to everyone that entered the competition. Here is a picture of Derval with her Dad (Who was over the moon and now considers Derval his ‘favourite’ daughter!!) Also keep an eye on our social media for our future competitions, one of which will be for World Chocolate Day which is on July 7th!

Am Seacláid, The Skelligs Chocolate Blog Team

  • Thank you for choosing Skelligs Chocolate. We work hard at making the best possible chocolate we can and we do our best to make sure it arrives in the same condition as it left us.

Here in Ireland, hot weather is rarely an issue, but what is it like where you are sending this chocolate? We have no control over the way it is transported and how long it stays in hot trucks or depots.

Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for the condition of the chocolate you send.

If you are happy to take responsibility please just tick the box and proceed.

If you would like to discuss this with us please email us at office@skelligschocolate.com or call us on 00 353 66 9479119 to discuss what we can do for you.

    Tips for Warm Weather Shipping:

    • Please be aware that we use a registered postal delivery service so all packages are tracked and must be signed for on delivery. If there is no one available to sign for the package, please be aware your chocolate will be put back on the truck and stored in the nearest depot for collection.
    • If possible, ship to a business address. Businesses usually receive packages earlier in the morning and someone is always onsite to receive the package. This way your product isn’t exposed to the hot sun all day.
    • After receiving your package, let it rest at room temperature to provide items time to set before opening.

Apologies but we are unable to Ship to the USA

With excessive heat related issues from our couriers we, regrettably, cannot send any chocolates to America.

This will be reviewed at the end of August
